HEIC Converter
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on iPhones and iPads running iOS 11 and later. It uses the HEIF standard with HEVC compression to store photos at roughly half the file size of JPEG while maintaining the same visual quality. Despite its efficiency, HEIC is not widely supported outside the Apple ecosystem.

Pros & Cons of HEIC
Pros: Roughly 50% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality, supports 16-bit color depth, stores multiple images and Live Photos in one file, supports transparency. Cons: Limited support on Windows, Android, and most web platforms; cannot be displayed natively in most browsers; many image editors and CMS platforms reject HEIC uploads.
When to Use HEIC
HEIC is best kept as your iPhone's storage format to save space. When you need to share photos via email, upload to websites, or edit in non-Apple software, convert HEIC to JPG (for universal compatibility), PNG (for lossless quality), or WebP (for web performance).

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this converter free?
- Yes, completely free with no limits. No signup required.
- Do you upload my image?
- No. All conversion happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
- Will the conversion reduce image quality?
- PNG is lossless so quality is preserved. JPG and WebP use high-quality compression (92%) which is virtually indistinguishable from the original.
- Which image format should I use?
- Use WebP for the smallest file sizes on the web. Use PNG for lossless quality and transparency. Use JPG for photographs where small file size matters more than perfect quality.
